September 10, 2019 KFA update.
We begin this update with two recent home-owner comments:
★ Aug 11 Marilyn wrote: It is totally unfair that FOSA sets
meetings when so many are away for the summer. Not everyone
is in agreement with you!!! We want to keep FOS a residential
park, NOT a resort community. Do you hear us? Quit going
against our wishes. Start listening to the majority of residents.
★ Aug 9 Wayne and Arlene wrote: We moved to FOS because costs
were within our budget. If newer homeowners want all these
amenities we don't have, why did they choose our park?
Move where they are available.

★ Aug 9: The FOSA Long Range Planning committee and
Finance committee held a special joint meeting that was
announced to the community only *5* hours before the
starting time. Only 20 people total showed up.
Those in charge decided to recommend increasing the amount
that had been previously budgeted of $120,000 and instead
recommended spending $250,000 to remodel the FOS Admin building.
How many of the 2,400+ Fountain of the Sun home-owners do
you think would have VOTED in favor of increasing our
assessments even more to pay for this huge increase?
But only the FOSA board voted on spending.
FOS home-owners were not allowed to VOTE on this!
FOS home-owners are not allowed to VOTE on any motions
presented at FOSA board meetings.
The details pertaining to the FOSA board's "motions"
and the agenda for these meetings are never presented
to the community before they are sprung on the few
residents who attend these meetings.
Full transparency should require that full details of all
such motions should be posted on the FOSA website at least
two weeks before any FOSA board meeting so that home-owners
have an opportunity to find out what the board is planning.
★ August 14, 2019 "Special" ★ Rushed ★ FOSA board meeting.
Prior to this rushed meeting to pass a huge spending increase,
the board had announced that no board meetings would be held
in July and August while so many home-owners are gone for
the summer and not available to attend.
The FOSA board explained at this meeting why they were
(probably) going to be continuing to impose the maximum
10% assessment increase allowed by the bylaws in order to
fund increased reserves for further increased spending.
The FOSA board also announced that they are planning
to establish a new "charter approval" program to
require home-owner groups within Fountain of the Sun
to provide financial information and membership lists
for all groups in Fountain of the Sun so the board can
exercise control over whatever any groups want to do
and to prevent any non-chartered groups from meeting
in Fountain of the Sun meeting rooms.

NOTE: The FOSA board is still pushing ahead on plans
to bulldoze both water retention basins on Pueblo and
prepare the West water retention basin to replace the
green grass with the following:
(1) a parking lot
(2) 4 pickle ball courts
(3) a batting cage
(4) 6 shuffle board courts
(5) 2 bocce ball courts
(6) concession and bathroom
(7) covered seating areas
This would radically change the living environment for the
home-owners who live in the perimeter and near this park.
This would be a drastic change in Fountain of the Sun.
